Reporting

Copies of each audit report are sent to the appropriate ministry, the agency or unit covered by the audit, other concerned parties, the Ministry of Finance, the Parliamentary Audit Committee, the appropriate parliamentary committee and the Office of the Chancellor of Justice. Reports are also sent to key authorities' libraries and information services and to the Finnish News Agency.

A press release is generally issued concerning audits. Press releases and reports are available on the National Audit Office's website. Printed reports can also be ordered from the Office.

Follow-ups are conducted for all performance audits, usually after a period of 1-2 years, to see what measures have been taken as a result of audit findings. Follow-ups monitor the effectiveness of audits.

Various special publications and reports are also published each year, including a report on the activities of state-owned companies.
