National Audit Office of Finland
The National Audit Office (NAO) is Finland's Supreme Audit Institution and operates in affiliation with Parliament. It audits the state's finances, monitors and evaluates fiscal policy and oversees election and party funding. Through its independent audit work the National Audit Office ensures that public funds are spent according to Parliament's decisions, in compliance with legislation and wisely and that fiscal policy is exercised in a sustainable manner.
New strategy and audit plan for NAOF
The National Audit Office has approved a new strategy for 2013-2020. It contains general lines concerning the achievement of the office's task, the office's values, vision and strategic objectives, the focusing of audit, control and expert activities, and development focuses.
The office has also approved an audit plan for 2013-2017 to guide its work. The audit plan includes performance objectives for 2013.
