The Rules of Procedure govern the organisation of the National Audit Office and its responsibilities and duties.

The Rules of Procedure include regulations on management of the National Audit Office, management forums, as well as preparation and resolution of matters. In addition, the Rules of Procedure define, for example, the issuance of guidelines and regulations on audits and oversight, the imposition of sanctions and penalties, the Sanction and Penalty Board, the Scientific Council, cooperation, public posts and specific qualification requirements for public posts.

The new Rules of Procedure of the NAOF entered into force on 1 April 2019.
