Audit Committee proposes Sami Yläoutinen as the Auditor General of Finland

The Parliamentary Audit Committee proposes Sami Yläoutinen as the Auditor General to head the National Audit Office of Finland. The Auditor General is elected by the plenary session of Parliament.

The Parliamentary Audit Committee has decided to propose Mr Sami Yläoutinen as the new Auditor General of Finland, who is the head of the National Audit Office of Finland. The decision on the Auditor General will be taken by election at a plenary session of Parliament, the date of which will be confirmed later.

Sami Yläoutinen currently serves as Director General of the Budget Department at the Ministry of Finance. He holds a Doctor of Sciences degree in economics.

A total of 48 persons applied for the post of the Auditor General. The term of office of the Auditor General is six years.
