NAOF is preparing for the regional government, health and social services reform by engaging in active stakeholder work

The National Audit Office already started preparations for the regional government, health and social services reform in 2017, both internally and by engaging in active stakeholder work. Our aim is to make our own role and our audit mandate visible by taking a proactive approach and to promote the effectiveness of the audit operations.

By engaging in active stakeholder work, we help to clarify the overall picture of the audit and evaluation work arising from the regional government reform, including the actors and their roles as well as the links between them. We will prepare a joint memorandum of county-level audit actors in cooperation with the audit associations. The memorandum and its visualisations will be jointly used by NAOF and the audit associations and it will also be available on the alueuudistus.fi website, which serves as the main channel for providing information on the regional government, health and social services reform.

Latest action carried out as part of the preparations and challenges faced in the process have been discussed on visits to the regions and at the meetings with key central government players. Information has also been extensively disseminated on these occasions. Join perspectives have allowed the parties involved to share information, lessen uncertainty and establish contacts with other actors. The stakeholder cooperation, which has expanded as a result of the regional government reform, brings benefits to all parties.
