Parliament has dismissed Yli-Viikari from the post of Auditor General of Finland

Parliament has today decided to dismiss Tytti Yli-Viikari from the post of Auditor General of Finland. Director Matti Okko continues to serve as Deputy to the Auditor General at the National Audit Office of Finland (NAOF).

“Parliament made the expected decision in its plenary session today. The NAOF will now focus on continuing its important duties in auditing the legality and appropriateness of the management of central government finances, in monitoring fiscal policy, and in overseeing political party and election campaign funding,” says Matti Okko.

“We have already started systematic work to improve our own activities, taking into account, for example, the report of the Audit Committee. I trust that the management and the entire personnel are committed to working towards building a good working atmosphere and strengthening external confidence.”
